Silver Stacking or Having a Mid-Life Crisis?

Am I silver stacking or having a mid-life crisis is a question I have started asking myself. When Old Fat Marine (OFM) started to stack it was in hopes of turning a few bucks in what would be a relatively short period of time. As always… God laughs at my plans.

Starting Out

Someone recently asked me… “am I silver stacking or having a mid-life crisis”. The answer to that question can easily be found in a book entitled “The Creature From Jekyll Island”. Once the evil and corruption of the world banking system were realized it scared the living shit out of me. An uneasiness type of fear. A pit in your stomach that is just there. The more the book revealed the depth of corruption the deeper the fear swelled.

I do not speak of the fear in a thriller-type novel. I speak of a fear that settles in the stomach and stays there like a pit from an avocado. A fear that flashes me back to the U.S.M.C. when there was no chow for a couple of days and hunger set in. Mind you there was no fear of starvation, but the feeling of unsatiable physical hunger was not one I wish to ever repeat. The feeling of helplessness is not easily forgotten. Total starvation could become a reality as much as drowning despite knowing how to swim very well. The situation determines everything.

I pride myself on my innate love of history. Old Fat Marine has delved into historical shit since youth. Having an inane interest in World War history information is the fact that communist nations have no fear of killing their own soldiers and starving the people. Whomever “those people” may be chosen to be.

Communist nations use food as any other weapon when on the field of contention. A person can clearly see history littered with the souls that once were starved to death by their leaders. Yes, their leaders! A quick example is The Holodomor’s Death Toll when U.S.S.R. starved to death almost four million Ukraine citizens. We will not even get into what the Nazis did in World War II. To not view food being used as a weapon is naive and blissful ignorance. Kind of cute actually!

Food is a Tool. Starvation is a Weapon

The example of Ukraine being used is not for an attention-getting clickbait thumbnail. It is genuine fear Old Fat Marine (OFM) has that what is currently happening shows ALL the signs of history coming around again to close yet another loop of financial history. The collapse of the U.S. dollar is not a secret. Every person reading this should completely understand the collapse of EVERY FIAT currency in history was a total failure. The United States will be no exception to this historical fact.

FOOD

OFM has been storing large amounts of food over the last year. I will not rehash the reasons as they are the same as above. Canned goods are crammed in cabinets in the kitchen and a few other places. Nothing purchased is stored if it is not an everyday item. Currently, there are enough canned goods for a few months of NOTHING being available. Also, under the bed is a 25-year shelf life emergency food storage for about four months.

Another thing Old Fat Marine has been doing is planting different types of vegetables. I planted corn, tomatoes, jalapenos, cantaloupes, carrots, and squash. I have never planted a thing in my life and started it all in buckets on my porch. Many have been transplanted to the yard because they were becoming rootbound. Which is a word I never heard until I started this preparedness journey… rootbound. This season has been to gain knowledge. Heck, I did not even know what heirloom seeds were and how ESSENTIAL it is that you only plant this type when planting for survival.

Chickens

Currently, I am raising 4 chickens and barely have a clue how the hell to do it. The chickens are not for the meat, but for the eggs. A pen and a coop were ordered today to make the chickens’ life safe and secure. They will provide my loved ones with eggs. Also, eggs can make great barter in the rural…ish town where I reside.

Am I silver stacking or having a mid-life crisis? This is a question that opens and yet I believe the downside will be free eggs. If I am correct and there is a total food chain failure… life will be better. No matter what I actually enjoy having chickens and have grown quite fond of them. The grandkids love them too, which makes the Old Fat Marine quite happy.

WATER

Foolishly I went out and purchased eight 5-gallon bottles of water. One practical thing done was to finally install gutter barrels on the house to collect rainwater. I used it today to water the vegetables currently growing in the yard. Not only is this water cost-free it is void of any chemicals added.

I am also looking into a water purification system that I can use in my home that Economic Ninja swears by. I know how important water is but I currently worry more about the issues mentioned above as water is harder for the government to shut down the supply. Old Fat Marine is also looking to gather some water filtration straws, for if there is a problem before I can create a final solution. As the funds to do all this are limited.

Silver

Silver is something that Old Fat Marine plans on accumulating as time will allow. I too felt as if the world was going to end tomorrow and jumped in with both feet. Now that I have studied the process it is easy to see the total crash is not here yet and there is time left. For Old Fat Marine that time of preparation has about 1 year now. How much time is left is literally the million-dollar question. Depending upon how deep your silver conviction is will determine your future in silver stacking. Who would have thought silver would plummet in price like it did in early May.

For Old Fat Marine silver is the opportunity of his lifetime. Having once been a licensed stockbroker Old Fat Marine feels as if there is inside information going on inside his head. (Among many voices) OFM believes so much in the upcoming collapse that everything is being thrown into the ring to prepare. There will be zero preparation regret for Old Fat Marine.

Preparation

So as you can see… Old Fat Marine may be having a completely harmless midlife crisis. If the entire chaos seen in the world today settles down OFM will fade away tending chickens and growing corn.

If Old Fat Marine is right….. he will fade away on a much bigger ‘farm‘ on a much bigger piece of land. Because he will simply buy the shit of the non-believers. Those poor souls will lose it all. I cannot stop their actions no matter what I do, but I can benefit from their naive and blissful ignorance.

Is Old Fat Marine having a midlife crisis?… oh and by the way…. since we both know that all main street media is bullshit did you ever wonder how much bullshit has been written into history?
